Welcome back! Autumn is creeping closer every day here in the great Midwest, and I thought I’d kick off a new season of blogging by sharing with you some exciting news! Juliette Gordon Low: The Remarkable Founder of the Girl Scouts will be released in paperback by Penguin Press at the end of January 2013….with a new cover. Here it is! What do you think?
If for some reason you don’t own the hardback, then this paperback is for you! If you’re in a book club, I hope that you’ll consider this discussion and invite me to Skype in to answer questions! You can pre-order the paperback from your local independent bookstore, and from amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com.
New cover, new season, new talks on the horizon–including the State Fair of Texas (hosted by the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas) and the Georgia Literary Festival on beautiful Jekyll Island. As the centennial year wraps up, I’ll be speaking–on 12 March 2013–in Wichita, Kansas, at Watermark Books. I look forward to your ideas for the blog, your comments on the book, and your presence should I make it to your home town. If you would like me to come speak about Juliette Gordon Low at your business or university or in some other capacity, click on the “contact” tab above and give Anna Baldasty a shout at the Penguin Speakers Bureau.
Back next Friday with more on the remarkable life of Juliette Gordon Low!
I love the new cover and I’m excited for all of your new adventures! Congratulations, Stacy!
Thanks, Paige!
Hey Stacy, Don’t forget that most Girl Scout Shops will carry the book as well. We could use the business. Folks should check their local council shop first. Please.
Excellent point, Sue! Thank you–I don’t have any way of knowing which Girl Scout Shops carry the book and which don’t–but it would be a great thing if anyone wanting to purchase the book would check with their local Girl Scout Shop because a purchase there will help Girl Scouts.
I loved it! We’re hoping to see you in DC this spring, Stacy!!
I’m ready! Let’s make this trip happen!
:-)
I want to get you to New York City, Stacey! Love the cover.
Hi, Margaret–thanks for writing in. I am glad you love the paperback cover; I do too. And I would love to come to New York!
I’m trying to get the NYC Girl Scout people to get you to NY!
Thanks, Margaret!
